Will Donkey Help You to Get Rid of Your Writer’s Block? Learn How

Learning from a donkey? Is it not something funny?

But believe me, nature is a preacher. We can learn many things from nature.

Even new technological innovations are done by observing nature.

Yes! You might remember the invention of aircraft by the Wright brothers by noticing the flight of a bird, right?

Then why not this donkey would help us get rid of the writer’s block?

I have a habit of listening to motivational speeches.

As usual, I watched one video by Gaur Gopal Das, a Monk, and Motivational speaker.

The story goes like this.

One day a farmer was walking with his three donkeys towards the market.

On his way to the market, he saw the river.

The river was gushing with silvery water, and the lush green along the river bank was mesmerizing. The farmer wanted to have a bath.

Unfortunately, he had only two ropes to secure the donkeys. He didn’t know what to do. At that instant, a wise man passed by. Immediately, the farmer approached him and asked for a rope to tie the third donkey.

The wise man didn’t have a rope. Instead, he suggested a very nice idea. He asked the farmer to tie the two donkeys in the nearby tree and asked him to pretend like he was securing the third one too.

The farmer did the same and went for bathing.

Once he came back, to his surprise, the three were standing like how he left them.

Now he released the two donkeys and started walking towards the market.

Only those two donkeys were following him, while the third one stood there under the tree.

He went near the donkey, spoke with it, and pushed it to make it walk. But nothing worked out. He again approached the wise man and narrated the whole scene. The wise man asked him whether he had untied the third donkey or not?

He said that he had not even tied the third one. The wise man said, only you know that you had not fastened the donkey, but it believed that you secured it as well.

So it thought that you had not released it yet. Now, the man asked the farmer to pretend as if he was releasing it. Farmer did the same.

Immediately the donkey felt that it was released and started walking along with the other two donkeys.

The moral behind the story is that we also have some mental blocks. We have potential and lots of opportunities too.

At the same time, we are securing ourselves by an imaginary rope of fear, doubt, and hesitation.

We need to work out on these mental blocks and step towards success. Then what restricts you. Move ahead and reach your dreams!

Untie yourself from writer’s block and bring out the reader in you.

Believe that you too can write. Make it a practice to write daily.

Practice, Practice, and Practice.

Practice makes the man perfect.

Don’t forget to share your comments.

cheers,
